People are important. Occupational therapy helps people do the things that are important to them. Those things can be social interactions, exercise, and hobbies as well as the everyday tasks you do of sleep, eat, dress, move, clean and shop.
✅ Assessment: Advocacy is important in the NDIS. Assistive technology assessment can be the evidence to have the support you need funded. This is often referred to as a functional capacity assessment.

✅ Executive Functioning: We help to improve attention, planning, and organisation. In practice this covers the everyday tasks of remembering tasks from one room to another complete dressing, showering, as well as accessing businesses and government services.
✅ Motor Skills (movement): Changes in function can mean how we use our hands and move is not the same as it used to be. For some people occupational therapists can help get the function back you used to have, for other people occupational therapists help you keep the function you have.
✅ Social & Life Skills: Supporting people to have the right supports, equipment, skills and strategies to participate in social activity is core occupational therapy practice.
